Arrival in Glasgow
If you're flying into Glasgow, you'll land about 15 minutes outside the city center. While Glasgow Airport does not have a train station, you can take various buses from the airport to the city center. If you're staying outside of Glasgow, we recommend taking a taxi or Uber from the airport.
Our Wedding Venue
The ceremony will take place in Bridge of Weir, a village about a 10-minute drive from the airport. Since there is no train station, you could stay in the village itself to walk to the church. Alternatively, you can take a taxi from nearby locations.
Party Venue
The party will take place in Howwood, approximately a 10-minute drive from Bridge of Weir. The Bowfield Hotel, where the party will be held, offers luxury accommodations and spa facilities—ideal if you want to head straight to your room after the party. We will also be staying there. Other accommodation options are available in nearby villages like Johnstone and Lochwinnoch. Johnstone has a partner hotel of our party venue, and Lochwinnoch offers several charming Airbnbs.
Transportation in Scotland
Public transport in Scotland is not as extensive as in the Netherlands. While Howwood can be reached by train from Glasgow, the hotel is located atop a hill, requiring a 20-minute walk. We recommend taking a taxi or renting a car. Your accommodation can often assist in arranging a taxi.
